Northstar Box

Lukas Johnson: Box Lacrosse Director

Northstar Box Lacrosse Mission:

Northstar Box Lacrosse was founded with a desire to compete and win at the highest level in the world while teaching skills, concepts, commitment, and a love of the game.

Our staff is committed to teaching the game the right way, because we believe that the team that plays the smarter game will always have a chance to win, regardless of the pure skill/athleticism that they’re faced with.

We value inclusivity. Players who commit to our process are valued and earn roles. Top players work with less experienced players; older players are empowered to lead and teach our younger levels; all of which betters the program, the teams, and all individuals associated.

Relationships are a major catalyst for growth and success. If players are connected to their coaches, teammates, and other players in the program, they will go to war alongside them and strive to be successful with and for them.

We don’t always need the best players, we need the right people.

  • Coach “Lujo” brings an uncanny passion to the floor to teach, inspire players, and grow the game in the box lacrosse forum.

  • The landscape of box lacrosse is changing rapidly across the country right now as box asserts itself as king in the development of players while opportunities at the highest level of competition continue to grow.

  • Northstar Box and its coaches are dedicated to creating opportunities for aspiring box players and growing the best version of lacrosse.

Contact Lujo for more information. We’re happy to run try box events for any level, small group sessions, lessons, consulting, etc.

To be the best, you have to play the best…

The difference between field and box lacrosse is that Minnesota teams head to the east coast to play against the best, but when you get there you may not play a single east coast team. In box, we can go to the best teams tournaments and ensure that we get to compete against them. I don’t know how any athlete goes to the Midwest and Louisville classic and leaves the same type of competitor.
